Who wins the race?? EA or IIFT

I am writing my first blog listening to old Telugu songs (1960's) at 5.00 A.M in the morning sitting in our hostel FE-66 with no intention of sleeping in the next two hours but willing to attend MIS mid-term exam this morning.
No idea of where the book is and what the syllabus is!!!

Who else could do this??? Enginner Attitde!!!

IIFT is doing everything that it could do to make us better managers and trying to impose its culture. On the other side, our "Engineer Attitude" effort is to impose its own culture. The race continues!!!It has been here for more than 5 months since we joined on July 1st.

I think this is a “birth-right” for a manager (for the moment, say MBA student) to make things complex else which company would pay him such a hefty amount in a job if he does show them simple!!!

Life is cool at IIFT if day-to-day things are done on the day itself but we are trying hard to make it complex by "killing" time with our 'chalta hai" attitude and going back to the “one-night batting formula” on the eve of exam.

Doing right things at the right time and leading a problem-free life is never easy and not at all comfortable for any typical engineer, I suppose. We always have the habit of creating problems and then solving. The best part of the worst is we do the latter on our own so efficiently that we are still surviving in this competitive world and are also preferred to any other "community" in any B-School!!!

Even corporate world couldn’t change the way we manage ourselves and our time in the time we spent there after Engg!!!

Next, we thought a B school would change us. In fact, it took us in the direction it wanted for a couple of months but our “Engineering” attitude which has been with us for so many years didn't allow us to change and we have won the race over our institution in the next three months.

Is the culture that IIFT set up in the last four decades for its students or our new “Engineering” culture we are setting up here that wins the final race?

We prefer the first, IIFT prefer the first but what does “time” and our "Engg. attitude" say ??

Note: A Generalisation has been made for the whole Engineering Community considering a typical engineer’s attitude without any "statistical" evidence. There are always exceptions and exceptional candidates!!!
